About Bella
I have been a professional Dog Trainer for 4 years with 5 years experience within the dog training industry. My journey is not like most, starting in the Zoo industry for 4 years and then my career took me to the pound and shelter sector of the animal industry and finally landed me in the behavioural section of the dog training industry. Over the past 10 years I have obtained a Bachelor of Science Zoology (Majoring in Marine Biology), Cetificate II in Animal Care and Certificate III in Captive Animal Care at the Taronga Training Institute and finally a Certificate IV in Dog Behaviour and Training at the Detla Institute.
Over the past 4 years I have attended many seminars that have aided in my experience and knowledge of dog training.

A Little Bit about me and my Journey:
Like many, I grew up with family dogs and welcomed my first very own dog at just 14 — a Chocolate Labrador named Cadbury. She was my golden girl in every sense: easygoing, intuitive, and a joy to live with. Training came naturally, and I truly believed I had it all figured out.
That belief was quickly challenged with my second dog.
Scully, a Wheaten Border Collie, came to me as a rehome case. Her previous owner knew she needed more — more understanding, more guidance, and more commitment than they could provide. Scully was severely reactive, and working through her challenges required months of hands-on training, patience, trial and error, and learning far beyond anything I had experienced before.
Scully became my greatest teacher. She pushed me to expand my knowledge, refine my skills, and truly understand behaviour, emotional regulation, and the importance of relationship-based training. Every step of her journey shaped my approach and ultimately gave her the quality of life she deserved.
That journey laid the foundation for Show Up Dog Training.
Today, my mission is to help other dog owners navigate their own “forces of nature” — to build clarity, confidence, and connection, and to ensure their dogs aren’t just managed, but truly understood. By nurturing the relationship between people and their dogs, we create calmer homes, stronger bonds, and dogs living their very best lives.
